• Who are you?

               Hi, I’m TORR (or TORRdubz) and i am a tearout producer thats located in LA 

• How did you discover tearout?

   Funny enough I discovered tearout while deep diving in soundcloud to find artists  that had a similar vibe to what svdden death was doing at the time. 

• Was there a specific artist or track that changed everything for you?

                  OH this ones was kinda tough to think about but I would say Svdden death-Behemoth (the VIP as well), Phaseone – Inevitable Outcome, and Mastadongs-Death pit. 

• What has been your biggest challenge as an artist?

                  Biggest challenge I would say is being consistent with making music, finishing out those ideas (currently sitting on 137 unfinished tunes), as well as trying to get content out.    

• What are your favorite synths and plugins?

               OOO for synths I love serum even though i’m still trying to learn what it does (all I know is to FM to B all the time). And for plugins, I would say Saturn 2, Khs convulor, Pro Q, and all of ableton’s stock programs.

• Is the genre evolving in a direction you like?

               I think the direction that the genre is evolving is quite unique in the sense that there are so many cracked producers doing new and exciting things with in the genre and that I feel like we have just touched the peak potential that this genre has yet to hit.  

• Where do you think tearout is headed over the next few years?

              I think there are three ways that tearout could be headed towards, the first being that there could be a multitude of subgenre within this scene mirroring what metal and rock have, two, I could see that there could be more possible collabs or even remixes of tons of metals songs within the next few years, or three tearout just takes the world by a crazy storm. 

• What’s the craziest crowd reaction you’ve experienced?

              I would say my most recent show with Oblivion with my fellow tearout enthusiast Yuja, where the founder of Xhilo (Drachen) jumped from the stage and dunked a basketball into a hoop as I was dropping a double.   

• What inspires your sound outside of music? 

             My love of dark fantasy and all that’s horror (Like the Resident Evil series, Souls series, Bloodborne, Kingdom hearts, etc)  

• What’s your dream festival / venue to play at ? 

            Rampage, Apocalypse, EDC,  Lost Lands, Escape, & Nocturnal Wonderland
